Each Abuk Crafts product is painstakingly made by hand in the regions of northeast Ghana in West Africa. These one-of-a-kind jewels are made entirely of natural fibers, materials, and colors. The majority of the population in this area works as a subsistence farmer and lives in traditional villages, which are made up of traditional family homes surrounded by acacia sticks.

Traditionally, a grandmother will teach her granddaughter how to weave a basket. As they all weave together, the grandmothers get the chance to tell the younger generations stories and oral histories, preserving Ghanian culture.
