UNIVERSAL SIZE – For ALL heads circonference between 57 – 63 centimeters!
—-
Our historical arming caps are directly copyed from late viking era chess-mens, now stored in the British Museum 10-11th century and several manuscripts, from early medieval times. They are usable for viking reenactment, as well as carolingian, and byzantine, and even arab reenactment!
The shape of our arming caps, identical to the original representation guarantees comfort, allow the head to move in every-directions, and protects the cheeks, the beginning of the shoulders, and the nape of the neck.
—
Exterior made of great quality wool. We only select historical wool. Colours, and weaving are chosen, accordingly archaeological sources.
Inner lining made of natural colour linen.
Padding = 3 layers of felt (1,5-2cm thick, depending of the wool’s cover type. The padding is always quite compact but still supple, for comfort)
All visibles stitches are hand-sewn. Reinforced edges sewn with waxed linen thread for more durability.
The arming caps obviously require the use of a helmet whose inner circumference is adequate, which is, generally, around 4-5cm greater than the “naked” head circumference.
—
Fits well under chainmail aventail (chainmail attached to the helmet), but can also be worn without.
Gives enough protection for hard & violents reenactment battles, like Wolin, Neustadt Glewe, etc.
Battle-ready.

Several hundred historical reenactors across the world are already using our arming caps!
