Sewn from a maroon leather hide with a fine hand and a matte finish with just a little sheen. Top stitched.

Lined in cool cotton shirting that complements the maroon color. And just for fun, it’s used on the underside of the brim, too.

The hatband is 1″ wide and made with a combination of the leather and tattersall plaid with a keeper on the side.

The brim measures 2″ wide and adjusts to show just the right amount of underside. The crown height dips down 2-1/2″ in the front and 3-1/2″in the back and is slightly higher on the sides.

Select a style with or without the hat band. See images 8 and 9 for no hat band.

About the color maroon: some say maroon, others say burgundy. I see maroon on the reddish side, while burgundy tends to the purple side. For others, it’s just the opposite, and the names are often used interchangeably. The color of this leather tends to the reddish side.

Measure around the head just above the ears and across the forehead that includes the widest part with a tape measure or ribbon that does not stretch (don’t use a string) to within 1/8″ or 0.1 cm*, and include the actual measurement in the order.

Each hat is carefully packed in tissue paper, then inside a plastic sleeve tied with ribbon, then inside a sturdy shipping box surrounded with additional clear packing tape to keep moisture and dust out.
